This pic was taken at 1/30th of a second when Kowishka challenged his handler Marianne Dickison "Alpha" status in the handler/coyote relationship. It is important to know that a coyote's teeth are sharper than all dogs teeth-in fact the large cats like tigers and mountain lions are the only animals that have bigger and sharper teeth than a coyote. Challenging for "Alpha" status is a predictable behavior from the coyote but the handler MUST maintain alpha status at all times and wear protective gear to protect themselves from a possible bite that can be delivered faster than human relflexes. Remeber that this is a coyote and there is always a  possibility of danger.  Coyotes DO NOT make stable or safe pets.
